Chamoli : The world famous Valley of Flowers will be opened for tourists from Saturday. Tourists will start being sent to the valley at eight in the morning. The Valley of Flowers is opened for tourists on June 1 every year. All preparations have been completed by Nanda Devi National Park to send tourists to the valley. Nanda Devi National Park’s DFO Bibi Martolia has also reached Ghangaria, the main stop of the yatra. From here there is a three km track to the Valley of Flowers. DFO said, the track leading to the valley has been improved.

Many species of flowers have also started blooming in the valley. The first group of tourists will be sent from Ghangaria from 8 am on Saturday. Last year, 13,161 tourists had reached the valley. In view of the Chardham Yatra this year, the park administration is hopeful that tourists will reach here in large numbers.

The Valley of Flowers is located in the high Himalayan region. There is no provision for night rest here. Tourists have to return back to Ghangaria on the same day. From Ghangaria, tourists are sent to the valley from 7 am to 12 noon. They have to come back by five in the evening. The fee has been fixed at Rs 200 per person for residents of India and Rs 800 per person for foreign tourists.
