Ramnagar: Director General of Forests, Jitendra Kumar, along with Additional Director General of Forests, Sushil Kumar Awasthi, visited Corbett Tiger Reserve on Saturday and held a meeting with forest officials to discuss various issues. They provided valuable suggestions to the local forest administration during the session.
The senior officials were welcomed by Corbett Tiger Reserve Director Dr. Saket Badola, Deputy Director Rahul Mishra, and other officials and staff.
During the meeting at the Corbett headquarters, senior forest officials, including Dr. Saket Badola, DFO Ramnagar Digant Nayak, DFO Terai Western Forest Division P.C. Arya, and DFO Additional Land Conservation C.V. Joshi, briefed the dignitaries on the ongoing projects in Corbett and adjoining forest divisions.
DG Forest Jitendra Kumar and ADG Sushil Kumar Awasthi provided crucial guidelines to the forest officials on important issues such as forest-dweller relocation, removal of invasive lantana shrubs, disciplined tourism, eco-tourism, and the use of advanced technology to ensure the protection of forests and wildlife.
After the meeting, both senior officials headed to the Dhikala Zone of Corbett for a field visit.
Other officials present during the meeting included SDO Amit Kumar Gwasikot, Binder Pal, Hansa Pangti, and RO Bijrani Bhanu Pratap Harbola, along with several staff members.
