Lucknow: There is severe heat and heat wave in the state. During this time people are also dying due to heat. If there is death due to heat wave, then the family members of such people can be given financial assistance of four lakhs from the State Disaster Relief Fund. However, for this it is necessary to conduct post-mortem of the deceased person.
If a person dies due to heat wave, then the family of the concerned person will have to bring this matter to the notice of the top officer like Lekhpal, Tehsildar, SDM etc. and get their post-mortem done. The Revenue Department will conduct the post-mortem in such a case and send its report to the DM. The DM will release the relief amount related to it on the basis of the report. Relief Commissioner P Guru Prasad said that like other disasters, the DM is also authorized to make payment in case of death due to heat wave. If the workers engaged in election duty die due to heat wave, then there is a provision to give them a compensation of 15 lakhs under the rules of the Election Commission of India. At the same time, Project Director of Relief Commissioner Office Aditi Umrao has said that out of the incidents published in the newspapers on Friday regarding death due to heat wave, Mahoba district administration has confirmed two and Chitrakoot has confirmed one loss of life due to heat wave. Apart from this, no loss of life has been confirmed due to heatwave in any district.
There should be strong arrangements at every level to protect from heat wave: Yogi
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath instructed the officials that strong arrangements should be made at every level for the safety of common people, livestock and wildlife due to the increasing outbreak of scorching heat and heat wave. Relief Commissioner Office should issue a daily bulletin of weather forecast. There should be no unnecessary power cuts anywhere, be it village or city. Make arrangements to buy additional electricity. Problems like burning of transformer, falling of wire, tripping should be resolved without delay. Officers should pick up the phone, there should be no dispute anywhere. Senior officers should immediately reach the spot themselves.
The Chief Minister said that drinking water should be kept at public places in all municipal bodies, rural areas. There should be arrangement of drinking water at various places in markets, main roads. The cooperation of social and religious organizations should also be taken in this work. Water should be sprinkled regularly on the roads. Supply should be ensured through tankers in areas highly affected by water shortage. Special attention should be given to cleanliness at all religious places like Ayodhya, Kashi, Mathura etc. In view of Bada Mangal, ensure smooth cleanliness, traffic and other arrangements in Lucknow. It is also necessary to take care of the safety of livestock and wildlife. Heat-wave action plan should be effectively implemented in all zoological parks and sanctuaries. There should be strong arrangements to keep livestock owners safe in case of heat wave. There should be proper arrangement of green fodder, bran and water for livestock in cow shelters. Continue the process of vaccination of animals before the rains.
Yogi said that people affected by heat wave should be treated immediately in hospitals and medical colleges. Supply of drinking water in cities should be done as per the prescribed roster. Keep hand pumps functional, rural pipe drinking water schemes should be operated smoothly. Water and shade should be arranged at public places for cattle, dogs etc. Make the general public aware to keep water and grains in small pots for birds.
