Noida Police on alert before Bakrid and Ganga Dussehra, Section 144 imposed, strict action will be taken on violation

Delhi: Gautam Buddha Nagar Police has come in alert mode regarding Bakrid and Ganga Dussehra. With this, Section 144 has been imposed from today till June 19. Social media is also being closely monitored.

Gautam Buddha Nagar Police in Uttar Pradesh has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) in Noida and Greater Noida from Sunday to Wednesday in view of Bakrid and Jyeshtha Ganga Dussehra. A police official said on Saturday that prohibitory orders are being imposed to maintain peace and harmony during the festival. Ganga Dussehra will be celebrated on Sunday while Bakrid is on Monday. Section 144 implemented from 16 to 19 June.

According to the police order, public prayers, puja, processions and other religious events are completely prohibited in public places without special permission. Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Hirdesh Katheria said, ‘In view of the potential threat to public order from anti-social elements, the possibility that such persons may disturb the peace cannot be ruled out. He said that in view of this, Section 144 will remain in force in Gautam Buddha Nagar Commissionerate from June 16 to 19.

Action under section 188 for violating the order: According to the order, there will be a ban on illegal gatherings, use of drones within a radius of 1 kilometer from government offices and use of loudspeakers beyond the permitted limit. Especially these activities will be banned from 6 am to 10 pm.Along with this, it has been said in the order that there will be a ban on storing bricks, stones, soda bottles, inflammable or explosive items in open spaces or rooftops. Along with this, the police has warned that violating the order in any way will be a punishable offense under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.

Strict action will be taken against those spreading rumors: According to Gautam Buddha Nagar Commissionerate, 2500 policemen and 568 women policemen will be deployed in the district. Other officers including DCP will also do monitoring. Apart from the posts on social media, a police team will also monitor comments and videos. Strict action will be taken against those who try to spoil the atmosphere.
