Government took action regarding flood in Bihar, Central Government made a ‘Master Plan’

The central government has constituted a high-level committee to find a long-term solution to the floods in Bihar. This high-level committee held a meeting with Bihar Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and other senior officials on Friday and discussed the steps being taken by the Center to deal with the floods in the state.
According to a statement issued by the Water Resources Department, ‘The five-member committee met the minister and other senior officials of the department and discussed several measures being taken by the Center in the state.’

The committee members also apprised the minister about various projects prepared by the central government for flood management and control. Two other ministers from Bihar, Ashok Choudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav, also attended the meeting. Earlier in the day, the committee members met JDU working president Sanjay Jha. Jha is currently a Rajya Sabha member of the party and was earlier the water resources minister in the state.

Let us tell you that every year many districts of Bihar are affected by floods and the lives of crores of people get disrupted. This problem has been there for years. This year too, as soon as the monsoon started, the rivers have started to take a terrible form. According to the Water Resources Department, the Gandak and Kosi rivers are flowing above the danger mark at some places in the state. The Gandak river is flowing above the danger mark at Dumriya Ghat in Gopalganj, while the Kosi river is above the red mark at Baltara in Khagaria.

At the same time, due to floods in Bakra and Parman rivers in Araria, water has entered many low lying areas. The water level of small rivers has also increased. At many places, the water of the rivers has started spreading in the Terai areas.
