Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency gets the green signal, but when will it release? The suspense still remains
Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut’s film Emergency has got a clean chit from the censor board. This film is now ready for release. Kangana’s film was embroiled in controversies for a long time. But now the way for its release has been opened. The actress informed that her film has got the censor certificate. However, the release date of the film has not been announced yet.

What is the controversy over Emergency?
Kangana’s movie was earlier scheduled to release on 6 September 2024. But its release was postponed after protests by Sikh organizations. Sikhs allege that the film presents a wrong image of their society. The trailer of the film came on 14 August, since then a controversy arose over the movie. There were protests against the film in Punjab and a ban was demanded.
CBFC had earlier given certificate to the movie, but when anger of Sikh community came to fore, when people reached Madhya Pradesh High Court in protest, then the central government said that certificate has not been issued to the makers yet. Madhya Pradesh High Court ordered CBFC to pay heed to objections of Sikhs before giving certificate.
Kangana had to make changes in the movie
On the other hand, the makers also approached the court. They knocked the door of Bombay High Court when the film was not given a certificate. CBFC formed a revising committee, which suggested changes to Kangana in the film. According to the information, the censor board had laid down conditions for passing the certificate. They had objected to some scenes of the movie. They had ordered the makers to make changes in them. They ordered to put a disclaimer on historical issues.
In the movie Emergency, Kangana is playing the role of former Prime Minister of the country Indira Gandhi. Along with acting, she has also directed and produced this movie. Many actors like Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhary will also be seen in important roles in the film.
