The talented daughters of Uttarakhand are excelling in every field today, from education to sports and beyond. Among them, Snigdha Tiwari from Almora district is set to participate in an International Biodiversity Conference in Colombia, which will focus on the importance of wildlife conservation and biodiversity. Snigdha’s participation in this conference is a remarkable achievement for both Uttarakhand and India, as it will bring global recognition to India’s and Uttarakhand’s environmental efforts. This accomplishment is a proud moment for the entire country.
On October 30, Snigdha will attend the 16th Conference of the Parties on Biodiversity in Colombia. A resident of Almora and an advocate at the Nainital High Court, Snigdha Tiwari received a special invitation to this global event. She is an active member of international groups comprising 15 leading civil rights organizations dedicated to climate change, human rights protection, and privacy rights for citizens worldwide. At the biodiversity conference, Snigdha has been invited to speak on issues of policy efforts for a just climate transition and will lead several sessions. She was invited by the Green Party of Colombia to the two-day conference, which will address biodiversity and democracy, with an invitation extended to Green Parties from across the world on October 30.
For many years, Snigdha Tiwari has been advocating for human rights, climate change, acid attack survivors, street vendors, and vulnerable and marginalized communities at the Uttarakhand High Court. She has previously represented environmental and climate change issues at numerous global conferences.
