“Shri Ganesh Watershed Yatra Abhiyan Launched for Water Conservation Awareness”

In alignment with the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to promote water conservation and sustainable agriculture, the ‘Watershed through Prime Minister Agricultural Irrigation Scheme Jalagam Vikas 2.0’ has been introduced to encourage rainwater conservation across the nation. As part of this initiative, the ‘Shri Ganesh Watershed Yatra Abhiyan’ was launched in Uttarakhand with great enthusiasm, under the leadership of BJP leaders including Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami and Shri Satpal Maharaj.

The Yatra, which began with the symbolic green flag, aims to raise awareness among rural communities about the critical need for water conservation and the role it plays in improving agricultural productivity and overall development. The campaign seeks to inform villagers about the advantages of the Prime Minister’s initiatives for sustainable water management, focusing on the importance of rainwater harvesting and irrigation solutions that can transform rural landscapes.

This movement emphasizes a holistic approach to water management, focusing on watershed development, reducing water wastage, and ensuring long-term access to water resources for farming and drinking. By engaging directly with communities through outreach programs, the Yatra will educate people on practical techniques for conserving water, empowering them to take ownership of their local water resources.

Shri Ganesh of the Watershed Yatra, supported by Shri Satpal Maharaj, encourages every village in Uttarakhand to adopt water conservation methods as an integral part of their daily lives. The Yatra is expected to bring substantial change, helping the state and the nation move closer to realizing the Prime Minister’s dream of a ‘Developed India,’ where water security and sustainability are prioritized.

This initiative is a testament to the commitment of the Bharatiya Janata Party to both environmental sustainability and rural development, fostering a greener, more prosperous future for all.
