River Sixteen Nine

For years, the dirty water of Punjab going through Pakistan has been stopped by the neighboring country. A big dam has been built in the border area from the Pakistan side, due to which the water flowing through the drains of 5 districts of the state has stopped. Due to this, waterlogging has started rapidly in the border area of 20 km. Due to this contaminated water, agriculture and drinking water in many villages of Punjab have become a problem. Environmentalist Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal expressed concern over this and said to send a report to the government. Over the years, sewage from five districts of Punjab, Malout, Ferozepur, Moga, Faridkot and Muktsar, collects from 22 drains and goes to the Sutlej river in Pakistan region. Now Pakistan has built a big dam, due to which this dirty water is not able to reach the Sutlej. As a result, this contaminated water has started filling in an area of about 20 km along the border. Due to this, thousands of hectares of farming in more than 15 villages including Jamsher Muhar, Kabul Shah, Sureshwala, Awa, Noor Mohammad, Guhrami, Mubaka have started getting affected. The villagers are very worried about this problem.
