Haridwar, 06 Feb 2024: In view of the Lok Sabha elections, the police has started cracking down on liquor smugglers. Nagar Kotwali police arrested 17 accused of smuggling liquor from different places and recovered 395 pavs of country liquor. A case has been registered against the accused under the Excise Act.
On receiving complaints of illegal liquor smuggling at places around Harki Paidi, Senior Superintendent of Police Pramendra Singh Dobal had instructed City Kotwal Kundan Singh Rana and Harki Paidi outpost in-charge Sanjeev Chauhan to take action. A special campaign was conducted by forming teams on Sunday night.
