Uttarakhand, 19 March 2024: Now the government has excluded B.Ed candidates from the Elementary Education Service Rules, but due to the election code of conduct, teachers will not be able to be recruited at present.
In Uttarakhand, recruitment of primary teachers on 3253 posts has stalled due to lack of permission from the government before the implementation of the election code of conduct. Dhami Cabinet had approved the proposal to amend the Uttarakhand State Elementary Education Service Rules 2012. Due to which the candidates had hope that the recruitment which was pending for a long time would start soon.
The Education Department had invited applications for more than two thousand posts of assistant teachers in the year 2020 and 2021. Meanwhile, some other posts also became vacant in the department, but due to first D.El.Ed from NIOS and then B.Ed, the process of recruitment of teachers remained pending.
The first case is of 15 January 2021. When the government had ordered to include D.El.Ed candidates from NIOS in this recruitment of teachers. On this, a large number of D.El.Ed candidates from NIOS applied for teacher recruitment.
After these candidates applied, the government issued another order on 10 February 2021 and canceled the order of 15 January 2021. After this, in another case, first the Supreme Court and then the High Court on 14 February 2023 ordered to exclude B.Ed candidates from primary teacher recruitment.
Although the government has now excluded B.Ed candidates from the Elementary Education Service Rules, teachers will not be able to be recruited at present due to the election code of conduct.
