Businessmen demonstrated for the demand to open the market for a limited time

Dehradun– Due to the ongoing Covid curfew in the second wave of Corona, the backbone of the economy of the local traders of the city has been completely broken. All the local traders associated with Doon Udyog Vyapar Mandal demonstrated against the government at Ghantaghar Chowk in Dehradun.

Traders say that the way the cases of corona have started decreasing, in such a situation, the government should allow the markets to open completely for a limited time. Praveen Kumar Jain, President of Textile Committee Dehradun said that the backbone of the economy of thousands of traders of the city has been completely broken during the Corona period. In such a situation, while the government should now allow local traders to open their shops, on the other hand some relief should be given in the electricity bill along with GST.

It is worth noting that on the one hand, all the shops of the city are running closed continuously since the Covid curfew issued from the second week of April. On the other hand, the local businessmen have the burden of paying the salaries of their employees. Along with this, along with GST, the traders have to pay the electricity bill etc. In such a situation, due to zero earning, the financial crisis in front of the local traders is deepening day by day.

Gaurav Rastogi, a local bullion trader and general secretary of Doon Yuva Sarafa Mandal, told that all the jewelery shops in the city are running closed for the last 40 to 45 days. In such a situation, running the household expenses is also becoming difficult. In this situation, the government should now allow all the jewelers shops in the city along with other shops to be opened completely for a limited time. With this, apart from maintaining the family, other expenses will be met.
