Punjab employees will now get lower house allotment rent than before. In the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission, the house rent of the employees has been reduced. Now they will have to bear a loss of 2-4 per cent in the new pay scale. These rules will be applicable for all categories of employees. The rates of rent allotment have been changed.
The government employees of Punjab opposing the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission will also have to face a cut in the housing allowance in the new pay scale. According to the notification issued in this regard by the Finance Department, the existing house rent of Group-A, B, C and D employees has been reduced by 2 to 4 percent in the new pay scale.
In a letter issued to all special chief secretaries, additional chief secretaries, finance commissioners, principal secretaries and administrative secretaries, besides all department heads, division commissioners, it has been said on behalf of the finance department that while implementing the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission, the house rent allowance
