23-year-old sets himself on fire, dies on the spot.

Zirakpur : A mentally disturbed 23-year-old youth committed suicide by setting himself on fire in Dashmesh Enclave Colony under police station Dhakoli. The name of the deceased is Pankaj Ahuja. The police have taken action under the statement of deceased family and handed over the dead body to the family after the post-mortem.

Investigating officer Gulab Singh said that the preliminary investigation has revealed that the deceased Pankaj Ahuja was intoxicated and was suffering from mental problems for a long time.

On Sunday night, Pankaj went to an empty plot near his house where he set himself on fire. As he was shouting out of pain,the residents of the Dashmesh Enclave colony gathered and saw Pankaj engulfed in flames. They informed his family members but by the time the fire was extinguished, Pankaj had already died.
