Almora! where Physics meet the spirituality

Located in Almora, Uttarakhand, this temple region is of the second century that consists of two temples. Even Swami Vivekananda had come here in 1890. Apart from this, there is a special hill that attracts many scientists and spiritual awakened people around the world.

Situated at an elevation of 1917 meters above sea level, the Almora region of Uttarakhand has two historic temples that are dedicated to Goddess Kaushiki and Lord Shiva. Both temples are highly sacred as they are famous on the world stage due to spiritual and scientific reasons. This whole area is also famous for the magnetic rays in crank ridge also known as Hippie Hill. It was because it became very famous in the hippie movement of the 1960s to 70s. Even today, native and foreign climbers and tourists keep coming here.

According to Devi Bhagwat and Skand Purana, Goddess Kaushaki had killed Shumbha Nishumbha at this place. It is also evident that these three tourist places in the Almora are such that where mental peace is also felt along with the beauty of nature. Vivekananda visited the region here in 1890, while Walter Evans Wentz, a pioneer of Tibetan and Buddhist studies, once also lived here. He translated the Book of the Dead here. The mysterious Sunita Baba (Alfred Sonson) came here in the 1930s and lived here like Ernst Hafman for three decades. Apart from this, Anel Ginsburg, Peter Arlovski also came here. Crank ridge is also colloquially known as Hippie Hill.

On the other hand, as per Markandeya Purana Goddess Kaushiki is mentioned as the incaration of MahaSaraswati and she was born out of the sheath of Goddess Parvati. Mahasaraswati is regarded as universal sound energy and she is universally source of all the frequencies associated with seven type of forces that are called sapt matrika. The co incidence is evident here that magnetic forces and temple of Goddess Kaushiki are located together here.
