Bihar and Chandigarh yesterday managed to acquire top two positions in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy which is a T20 cricket tournament.
Chennai, Jan 17 (Bihar) Bihar on Sunday defeated Manipur by nine wickets in a plate group match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 tournament for the fourth consecutive victory. Bihar captain Ashutosh Aman won the toss and decided to field and his bowlers let Manipur to 105 for eight in 20 overs. Rex Rajkumar (29 runs) scored the most runs for Manipur. Medium speed bowler Amod Yadav took four wickets for 17 runs for Bihar. Chasing this target, Bihar won in 17.1 overs, with opener Shashim Rathore scoring an unbeaten 60 runs (40 balls, seven fours and two sixes) for the second wicket with Babul Kumar (31 not out).
Chandigarh Thrashed Sikkim by 131 runs
In another match, Chandigarh thrashed Sikkim by 131 runs and it was their third win, taking them to 14 points. Chandigarh is second in the points table after Bihar (16). Meghalaya and Nagaland also won their matches on Sunday.
If talk about other matches Haryana defeated Delhi by five wickets and registered their third consecutive win and jump to the top spot in Elite Group E standings in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament in Mumbai yesterday. Andhra defeated form Kerala by six wickets. Kerala earlier had won three matched and was in full form but this time lost to AP.
