Snehil Sharma, Chandigarh. The city’s BJP leaders and the Mayor reached the local Sector 54/55 to meet the fire victims of the city’s biggest furniture market where a massive fire broke out today and expressed condolences to the fire victims.
While providing the information, BJP State Spokesperson Kailash Chand Jain said that today a huge fire broke out in the biggest furniture market of the city located in Sector 54, in which 13 shops were burnt. Merchandise worth lakhs of rupees was destroyed due to this. The BJP State President Arun Sood, General Secretary Ramveer Bhatti, Mayor Sarabjit Kaur, former Mayor Rajesh Kalia reached the spot along with former Councilor Jagtar Singh Jagga and Devender Singh Babla. All of them expressed the sympathy with the shopkeepers who suffered in the incident and inquired about the damage caused by the fire. City MP Kirron Kher was also informed about the incident and got her to talk with the head of the market, Sanjeev Bhandari.
On this occasion, State President Arun Sood while talking to the traders said that it is a matter of great sadness that such incidents have already happened in this market in order to prevent them from recurring again and again, it should be settled in. He demanded from the administration to rehabilitate him for the purpose of finding a permanent solution to this problem. He assured that a concrete solution would be found immediately after talking to the officials.
