Building Corruption ? – A lady Inspector caught red handed in UT

Jagran Correspondent, Chandigarh. CBI Raid in Chandigarh: The CBI team raided on the complaint of corruption in Sector-34C police station of Chandigarh. In which, during the investigation, the CBI team has arrested the lady Sub Inspector (SI) Sarabjit Kaur red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000. The CBI team is questioning the woman constable by taking possession of the documents related to the case. However, it has not yet come to the fore in this case as to how someone’s complaint and who had given the CBI against the woman constable.

According to the information received so far, the CBI had received a complaint against the woman sub-inspector demanding bribe in some case. On this, CBI has arrested SI Sarabjit Kaur red handed by setting a trap. A case related to assault came to Sarabjit Kaur, a woman posted in Sector-34 police station, in which she had demanded money from one side to cover up the matter. Thereafter, the complainant complained about the matter to the CBI.

At the same time, earlier on September 7, 2021, Akshay Kumar, a junior engineer of the Central Public Works Department (CPW), was arrested by the CBI team for taking a bribe of 55 thousand rupees. The central agency has taken this action on the complaint of a contractor. At present, this officer, who spread corruption in UT, has reached behind the bars of the jail. He had sought a bribe to release the stalled payment of Rs 14 lakh. The investigating agency has caught him with bribe money. Junior engineer Akshay Kumar is accused of demanding money in lieu of releasing the payment of Rs 14 lakh that was stalled after renovation of gym and crèche inside the AG office of Punjab Building. The CBI team produced the accused junior engineer Akshay in the CBI court of the district court, from where he was sent to judicial custody.
