Captain – “The Constitution has been amended 127th time then why can’t 128th ?”

At the inaugural of the Virtual Kisan Mela , CM Amarinder Singh supported the farmers protest and  requested them  to continue. While giving the hope and strength to farmers said it’s time for amendment.

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh inaugurated the 3rd State Level Virtual Kisan Mela today, organized by Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. During the launch of the Virtual Kisan Mela, the Captain wore the #NoFarmers_NoFood badge in support of the ongoing farmers’ movement against the three agricultural laws. He inaugurated the fair by wearing this badge.

Earlier, Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had appealed to the representatives of farmer unions not to protest against the agricultural laws of the central government in the state. Politics was heated on his statement. Along with the opposition, the Haryana government had also opposed his statement.

During this, Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has once again demanded the Central Government to repeal all the three laws. Captain Amarinder Singh says that if the Constitution can be amended 127 times, then why can’t the Central Government do the 128th amendment for the farmers. For the past one year, many farmers who have been fighting against the agricultural laws have lost their lives. Keeping these things in mind, the central government should repeal these farming laws after talking to the farmers. Emphasizing on the repeal of agricultural laws, the CM said that the time has come for the central government to repeal these three laws keeping in view the interest of the farmers and the country.

Captain Amarinder Singh said that Punjab is a small state. Punjab has only 1.53 per cent of the land for cultivation in the entire country. Despite having such little land, Punjab contributes the biggest to the country’s granary. Despite the Corona epidemic, the farmers of Punjab have produced record food by working hard. Despite this, he is saddened to see what is happening to the farmer and the farmers of Punjab. During November last year, the central government had asked him to stop farmers from going to Delhi, but he had refused to do so. Because it is everyone’s right to protest for their rights. How can he stop someone? At this time he is standing with the farmers of Punjab. His government is providing employment along with financial assistance to the families of the farmers who were martyred in this struggle. The BJP government at the Centre should listen to the voice of the farmers.

Expressing concern over the depleting groundwater level, Captain Amarinder Singh said that PAU scientists would have to work harder for this. He asked the farmers to improve farming by adopting the new technologies being developed by PAU, so that agriculture can be given more boost in Punjab.
