Charitable Foundation Empowers Widowed Women with Monthly Ration Distribution

Balramji Das Tandon Charitable Monthly Ration Distribution Continues to Empower Widowed Women; 89 Beneficiaries Receive One Month’s Ration Kits in the 46th Free Medical Camp Organized by Competent Foundation in Khuda Ali Sher, Chandigarh.

Chandigarh, October 1, 2023 – In a heartfelt effort to empower widowed women, the Balramji Das Tandon Charitable Foundation, led by social worker and politician Sanjay Tandon, distributed free monthly ration kits to 89 beneficiaries during the 46th Free Medical Camp held in Khuda Ali Sher, Chandigarh. With the support of the Bharat Vikas Parishad, the foundation provided essential medicines and free consultations to local residents, including widowed women. This initiative, started in January 2020, has now benefited a total of 3123 widowed women, aiming to strengthen their self-esteem and provide essential support.

The foundation’s President, Sanjay Tandon, explained that each beneficiary family, identified through a dedicated ration card, receives a monthly kit containing 10 kilograms of wheat flour, 1.5 kilograms of rice, 1.5 kilograms of sugar, 2 kilograms of chickpeas, mustard oil, salt, tea leaves, turmeric, chili powder, coriander powder, cumin seeds, pickles, vegetable pakoras, bathing soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, 500 grams of powdered milk, laundry soap, dalia (porridge), soybean nutrition, utensil bars, gram flour, biscuits, 5 kilograms of potatoes, and 2 kilograms of onions.

The number of beneficiaries has grown to 89, with the foundation’s goal being to empower these women and instill a sense of self-worth. The foundation remains committed to strengthening this initiative, planning to expand its reach and offer even more substantial support to widowed women in the future.

Sanjay Tandon expressed his gratitude to the Bharat Vikas Parishad for their continued support, emphasizing the foundation’s dedication to uplifting widowed women by providing them with essential resources and ensuring their overall well-being. This ongoing effort stands as a testament to the foundation’s commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals within the community, fostering a sense of empowerment and dignity among widowed women.
