On Thursday, the SIT of Punjab Police presented a supplementary challan against Ram Rahim, who is serving a sentence in Rohtak’s Sunaria Jail, in the Faridkot court. This challan was presented in the sacrilege case. Earlier, SIT has questioned Ram Rahim twice.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Punjab Police has filed supplementary challan in Faridkot court against 10 including Dera Sacha Sauda Sirsa chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim in connection with the Bargadi sacrilege case. In this case, the SIT had arrested seven followers of Dera in July 2020 and after interrogation, the police had named all these accused besides three members of Dera’s national committee and Dera chief Ram Rahim and chargesheet against all 11 accused. was filed.
Due to the dispute with the CBI regarding the investigation, the Punjab-Haryana High Court had directed the police to take documents from the CBI and file a supplementary challan in the case. After which the SIT of the police interrogated Dera chief Ram Rahim twice in Rohtak’s Sunaria Jail. After this, on Thursday, a supplementary challan has been filed against all the accused including Dera chief Ram Rahim. The next hearing in this matter will be held on February 7.
