Earlier, while hearing two separate cases of Sadhvi sexual abuse, she was sentenced to 10 years by the court.

Gurmeet Singh has been sentenced to life imprisonment in the journalist Ramchandra Chhatrapati murder case. Now in the Ranjit Singh murder case, along with life imprisonment, a fine of Rs 31 lakh has been imposed. These four cases were sub-judice in the CBI court and the decision has come in them. Now the matter of neuter of sadhus is pending, which is under consideration in a court of Panchkula itself.

Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan, the head of Dera Sacha Sauda Sirsa in Haryana, was in controversies earlier also. On 25 August 2017, he was convicted by the court for sexually abusing sadhvis. Violence erupted in Panchkula and Sirsa after being convicted in this case. In which many people were killed.
