Punjab and Haryana Hight Court declared JBT Teachers 2017 Hiring illegal

Panchkula, Haryana. The Punjab and Haryana High Court in an important decision on Wednesday declared the appointment of about 1259 JBT teachers appointed in 2017 as illegal. In this case, counsel for the petitioner, Vikram Sheoran, told that the High Court has ordered the dismissal of these teachers by giving notice to them within three months.The court has directed to recruit eligible candidates on the date of issue of advertisement, if some posts remain vacant even after their recruitment, then the candidates who are eligible on the day of recruitment, who are in the waiting list in the result, ordered to be appointed. Is. The posts that remain vacant will be re-advertised and a fresh recruitment process will be issued.

What was the matter

  • Vikram Sheoran told that in 2012, Haryana Government had issued advertisement for the recruitment of 8760 JBT teachers. The cut off date for this recruitment was 11th December 2012. Only those candidates were eligible in this recruitment who had passed the Teacher State Eligibility Test.Haryana Government did not conduct the Teacher State Eligibility Test in 2012, due to which only those candidates who had passed the examination in 2011 could apply for this recruitment till the cut off date.Meanwhile, the Haryana Government conducted the State Eligibility Test in April 2013, the government said that due to administrative reasons, the Teacher State Eligibility Test could not be conducted in 2012, so the examination which is being held in April 2013 is now the Teacher State Eligibility Test 2012.

Meanwhile, a large number of petitions were filed in the High Court that the government did not take the Teacher State Eligibility Test in 2012 and now the government is taking the examination, so they should be allowed to participate in this recruitment. The court allowed such candidates to appear in the examination provisionally in 2013. Meanwhile, the result of the Teacher State Eligibility Test was declared and a large number of provisionally participating candidates cleared the examination. Now the Teacher Recruitment Board had two types of candidates, one who was eligible for the post on the cut off date 11th December 2012, the other who passed the Teacher Eligibility Test 2013 after the cut off date 11th December 2012.
