Hammering the city body for ‘resisting’ the sets of National Green Tribunal (NGT) wherein the Ludhiana civil enterprise (MC) was coordinated against pouring cement and introducing interlocking tiles around one meter range of trees, individuals from various NGOs under the standard of Council of Engineers organized a dissent outside the urban body’s Zone-D office on Friday.
Remaining at the section of MC office with bulletins in hands, the nonconformists said that the urban body has even neglected to eliminate the solidified bit around the trees outside its Zone-D office in Sarabha Nagar and the office is proceeding with a similar unlawful practice while taking up improvement projects in Ghumar Mandi, Malhar Road, Haibowal Kalan and different regions.
They said that trees can’t ingest water and different supplements after concrete is spilled around them. As indicated by them, even the underlying foundations of trees are harmed, which makes them feeble and they fall in case of tempest and solid breezes.
