Saketri temple is one of the most sacred places located near Chandigarh. It is just a few miles away from the shrine of Mansa Devi. Many people from far-flung regions visit both temples. Saketri Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva while Mansa Devi is a temple dedicated to Goddess Durga’s manifestation Goddess Mansa. She is a Snake Goddess and the temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas of Bhagwati Sati. Saketri Temple is equally famous for its spiritual rich background. It is an ancient temple and because her Shiva is worshipped in the form of Linga so on every Shravan month, the committee organizes a very big fair.
The temple opened up in a very planned way. Few people sitting at the starting point were screening body temperature, a person with normal body temperature was only allowed to enter the temple. The floor was outlined with square spots with red color at a distance of 6 feet as it was required to maintain social distancing while viewing and bowing down. By Communicating with temple priests Ram Lal Sharma and Dinesh Shastri, they said for the three month only priests were coming and performing all the necessary rituals prevalent for temples as per Hindu scriptures.
