St. Anne’s Convent School Leads Swachhata Campaign in Chandigarh

Slogan “Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta Ek Saath” by St. Anne’s Convent School true tribulations to Mahatma Gandhi

Chandigarh, October 1, 2023 – In a remarkable display of community spirit, St. Anne’s Convent School in Sector 32, Chandigarh, orchestrated a massive cleanliness drive as part of the nationwide Swachhata initiative, inspired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s call for cleanliness. The event, aptly titled “Shramdaan for Swachhata,” witnessed active participation from teachers, students, and parents of the school.

Under the slogan “Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta Ek Saath” (One Date, One Hour, Together), volunteers converged at Sector 32 market, focusing on intensive cleanliness efforts. The campaign aimed to encourage citizens from diverse backgrounds to engage in hands-on cleaning activities at public places such as markets, railway tracks, water bodies, tourist spots, and places of worship. This collective endeavor resulted in a visibly cleaner environment, showcasing the power of community-driven initiatives.

The volunteers, motivated by the Prime Minister’s vision, passionately embraced the task of transforming their surroundings. Engaged in rigorous shramdaan (voluntary labor), they meticulously cleaned various public spaces. Their dedication and hard work not only revitalized these areas but also inspired onlookers, emphasizing the significance of cleanliness in our daily lives.

Post the cleanliness drive, participants took a moment to reflect on the impact they had created. They recognized the transformative potential of Shramdaan, realizing that individual efforts, when combined, can lead to substantial positive change. The event served as a powerful reminder of the collective responsibility citizens hold in ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of their communities.

St. Anne’s Convent School’s initiative not only contributed significantly to the Swachhata campaign but also fostered a sense of pride and unity among the participants. Their proactive involvement exemplifies the school’s commitment to instilling social responsibility and environmental consciousness in its students and the wider community.

This community-driven initiative stands as a testament to the power of collective action, reinforcing the notion that small efforts, when multiplied, can create substantial ripples of change in society.
