The devotees got the permission to pour the water in Saketri Shiva temple’s Linga

Devotees who were upset and frustrated due to the Coronavirus global epidemic received very exciting news on 8 June 2020. Because on this day, all religious places were allowed to be opened by the Government of India but with some rules or instructions. Keeping in view of the same rule, the Shiva temple of village Saketri located in Panchkula was also opened. The joy of this was clearly visible among the devotees. According to the administration, only permission was allowed to visit religious places. Prasad and water were not allowed to go up. Just a few days ago, the month of Shravan has also started, and in this holy month, every year the devotees of Lord Shiva bring the holy water of Mother Ganga from Haridwar with great joy, for “Jalabhishek”, but the misery was that they could not do that because of Coronavirus. But the good news is that which has given great joy to the devotees. From today onwards, all the devotees, who come for the “darshan” of Shiva Lingam located in Saketri can now also offer water on it.
But the temple committee has also made some instructions for this.

  • Who so ever wants to offer water, they will also bring the vessel to offer water on the lingam.
  • The vessel present in the temple will not be given to anyone.
  • Social distancing has to be followed and everyone must wear a mask prescribed by the government.
  • There is still a ban on offerings.

During the talks with Panditji located at Saketri Shiva temple, he told that all the devotees are very enthusiastic about the coming Shivaratri in the month of Savan which is on 19th July this year. Every devotee wants to offer water to Lord Shiva on this day. And in view of this devotion, and love towards God, the temple committee has decided to offer water.
