A Maulana from Bareilly announced a reward of Rs 1 crore for the one who beheaded Swami Darshan Bharti, the founder of the Uttarakhand Defense Campaign. On this, the Bareilly Police has registered an FIR against Maulana and arrested him.
Swami Darshan Bharti, the founder of Uttarakhand Defense Campaign, is accused of speaking against Muslims. A Maulana, who runs a social organization in Bareilly city of UP, announced a reward of one crore rupees to the person who beheaded him. Bareilly police swung into action after his video went viral, registering an FIR against Maulana Hafiz Faizan Raza, president of Sarva Samaj Sangathan, arresting him and sending him to jail on Saturday.
Hafiz Faizan Raza made two videos viral on social media, which he made at his home. In a video, Hafiz Faizan is saying, ‘Swami Darshan Bharti has said in a statement that mosques should be banned by expelling Muslims from Uttarakhand, so whoever brings Darshan Bharti’s head beheaded, he will give a reward of one crore.’ In this video, Faizan has also used objectionable words. In the second video, Hafiz Faizan has challenged Swami Darshan Bharti for an open debate.
Bareilly SSP Rohit Singh Sajwan said that after the video went viral, an FIR was registered against Hafiz Faizan Raza on behalf of sub-inspector Ishrat Ali at Izzat Nagar police station in the city for spreading enmity in the IT Act and society. This video has created resentment and Hindu-Muslim sentiment among the people. Hafiz Faizan was sent to jail on Saturday after being arrested. After the arrest, Hafiz Faizan started apologizing. He said on the announcement of the reward – I made a mistake, my conscious balance was disturbed. I regret my statement. I shouldn’t have done that.
