Mother commits suicide after strangling two children
Raebareli: On Sunday, in a shocking occurrence in the Lalganj area of Uttar Pradesh’s Raebareli district, a woman allegedly murdered her two children before hanging herself. Police sources provided this information. According to police sources, Ratibhan Yadav went to Pure Vijayi Majra Lodipur Uttaravan village in the Lalganj police station area on Sunday afternoon to drop off his sister Kusuma at her in-laws’ home in Pure Bhuiyan Majra Kanha village. Ratibhan returned home in the afternoon to find the bodies of his son Raunak (five) and daughter Rimjhim (three) lying on the bed in the room, as well as the body of his wife Soni (37) hanging from a noose using a ceiling fan.
He stated that Soni is accused of strangling both of his children before killing himself by hanging. According to sources, when the police learned about the occurrence, they went to the scene and submitted the remains for postmortem examination. Ratibhan Yadav married a woman named Poonam 15 years ago but had no children. He married Soni a second time five years ago. He was living with both spouses.
At the time of the occurrence, his first wife, Poonam, had gone to work in the fields. Yadav has not suspected anyone in connection with the event. The reason for the incident could not be determined. The police are looking into this matter.
