Uttarakhand Weather: Red alert for heavy rains for four days in three districts, 404 roads closed in the state

Many routes including the motorway are closed due to debris. According to the departmental report, debris is being removed from the Rudraprayag-Gaurikund National Highway. Soon the routes will be opened for movement.

Uttrakhand new : In the instructions issued by the State Emergency Operation Center, it has been said that readiness and security should be maintained at every level and traffic should be controlled.

There is a possibility of heavy rains in the state for the next four days. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in Champawat, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar districts. The District Magistrates of the three districts have been instructed to take special precautions on 14, 16 and 17 July. There is a possibility of very heavy rain and lightning at some places during these three days.

Arrangements should be made to open the motorways immediately. All Revenue sub-inspectors, village development officers and village panchayat officers should remain in their respective areas. All outposts and police stations should also be on high alert with disaster related equipment and wireless.

404 state roads closed due to debris
Due to the rains in the state for the last several days, landslides and landslides have occurred at many places. This led to the closure of several national and state roads, including the Rudraprayag-Gaurikund National Highway in Rudraprayag district. 214 routes were closed on Thursday, including which 404 routes have been closed so far. At the same time, 12 bridges have been damaged so far this year, although 36 bridges across the state are dilapidated.

National Highways include Kurikhal Kui Motor Road in Tehri, Soundi Bhutli Nail Pavith Motor Road in the same district, Kargil Shaheed Jagat Singh’s main road up to village Kudya, Gular Gaja Motor Road to Pawki Devi Inter College Motor Road, Gaumukh Dobh Motor Road, Kyar Saud. The Pokhari-Harishankar motorway has been washed out at kilometer seven to eight at Pokhari in Chamoli district. Additional mountain cutting is required to open this route. In Pauri district, Birsinikhal Kota Silsu Motor Road, Nagar Mavadhar Motor Road, Taidi Basantpur Motor Road, Jakhani Ghudait Motor Road, Margaon Kanda Motor Road, Kot Talla, Kot Malla Motor Road are also closed due to debris.
