Batala, Punjab: Fed up with the threat of his girlfriend, the father (boyfriend) of two children committed suicide by swallowing sulfur. At the same time, Batala police took the dead body in their possession and handed over the body to the relatives after conducting the post-mortem. Police station Qila Lal Singh has booked a woman in this regard and registered a case against her for abetting her suicide. Satnam Singh, sub-inspector of police station Qila Lal Singh said that Baljit Kaur resident of village Kot Majlas has told the police that her husband Hardeep Singh (43) used to do farming. Her husband had a love affair with a woman for some time before. The said woman is also his distant relative and the woman has two married daughters. After Baljit Kaur’s persuasion, her husband broke up with the woman. Due to this, the woman got upset and started harassing her husband by threatening him. Hardeep Singh, mentally disturbed by this, swallowed sulfas late on Tuesday evening. He was immediately admitted to the Corporate Hospital in Amritsar.
Her husband died on Wednesday morning. The deceased Hardeep Singh is survived by his wife and two sons. Police station Qila Lal Singh has started further action by registering a case against the accused woman on the complaint of Baljit Kaur, wife of the deceased Hardeep Singh.
