Kapurthala: Six people arrested with fake currency of 1.5 lakh, three vehicles including Scorpio seized

Kapurthala Police of Punjab has got a big success. Police busted fake currency printing gang. At the same time, six people were also arrested during the special operation. At the same time, an amount of Rs 1.47 lakh has been recovered in the form of fake notes of Rs 2000 and Rs 500. The police have seized 30 packets of chemical paper used in making counterfeit notes, bottles filled with chemicals and dyes and packets of chemical powder and three vehicles distributing counterfeit currency. The arrested accused have been identified as Pargat Singh resident Rajewal Khanna, Harpreet Kaur alias Preeti resident of Mullanpur Sirhind, Charanjit Singh alias Channa and Mohinder Kumar both residents of Bhandal Bet, Pawan Kumar Sethi and Gurwinder Singh Guri, resident of Khanna City. SSP Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh said that the police team of Subhanpur police station got information that women named Pargat Singh and Harpreet Kaur in a Scorpio car were distributing fake notes by luring double the money. A team of SHO police station Subhanpur and other employees was formed under the supervision of Bhulth ASP Ajay Gandhi. The police team made a special check post from Nadala to Subhanpur road and stopped the Scorpio for checking, during the search, the police recovered a note of Rs 2000. Apart from this, Indian currency of 7500 rupees, a bottle filled with chemical, a packet of powder weighing 20 grams, paper used to make fake notes of 500 and 2000 were recovered. The SSP said that during interrogation of the arrested accused, it was found that some more members of their gang were also distributing fake notes to people in different vehicles. The police intensified their efforts to nab the other accused, apprehending Charanjit Singh Channa and Mahinder Kumar from a Mahindra Mexico vehicle and confiscating paper used for making counterfeit notes. Similarly, police also arrested Pawan Kumar alias Sethi and Gurvinder Singh Guri by stopping a Verna car near Dayalpur flyover and seized 60 fake notes of Rs 2000 and 50 fake notes of Rs 500.
