The government of Jammu and Kashmir have announced a special scholarship for the children who have lost their parents due to COVID 19 pandemic.
Moreover, the Government has taken other numerous measures to help those who unfortunately lost their loved ones to COVID 19.
As per the sources, On Saturday the Administrative Council Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha approved the grant of financial relief through the Special Assistance Scheme for Covid mortalities (SASCM/Saksham) to the families of victims.
The scheme would provide special scholarships to children who lost their earning parents, siblings, guardians to pandemic. The special scholarship would be paid annually at the rate of Rs 20,000 and Rs 40,000 to children studying up to Class 12 and higher education, respectively.
Apart from this, The first Union Territory to provide relief to Covid-affected families is Jammu and Kashmir.
