KBC 16: Bollywood superstar and ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 16’ host Amitabh Bachchan shared a funny incident on the show. While talking to KBC contestant Premswaroop Singh Negi, a retired General Officer from Delhi’s SSB (Sashastra Seema Bal), the actor also talked about his favourite tennis star.

Being a tennis fan and player, Negi expressed his passion for the game to Big B and told that he had once participated in a tennis tournament. In response, Amitabh Bachchan smiled and said, ‘Novak Djokovic is my favourite. He plays very beautifully, and he also imitates other players.’

Sharing a funny incident

Bachchan recalled a funny incident from his New York trip where he had gone to watch a tennis tournament. He said, ‘I was sitting with some Indian people there and they recognised me and asked for autographs. But what happened next was quite amusing. Two American women sitting nearby looked at me several times and then said, ‘Vijay Amritraj, it’s nice to meet you.’

He laughed and added, ‘They assumed I was Vijay Amritraj, a former Indian tennis player. Maybe because I was Indian, our height is somewhat similar and they thought if I was surrounded by people asking for autographs, I must be a famous tennis player.’

Amitabh Bachchan further added in his statement, ‘I just smiled and said, ‘I am not a tennis player. I have come here just to watch the match.’ I did not go ahead and tell them who I really am.’ Hearing this anecdote, Negi and the people present in the studio also burst into laughter.
