On Thursday, the teachers as well as students of numerous organisations protested against new National Education Policy as well as re-introduction of the Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) in Delhi University.
However, As per the sources, The protest was held outside Shastri Bhawan which houses the office of the Ministry of Education here. In addition to this, the protesters demanded to reopen the college as well as schools for offline classes which were shut amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Apart from this, The organisations those are protesting also include the All India Forum for Right to Education (AIFTRE), All India Revolutionary Students Organisation (AIRSO), AISA, DYFI, SFI and the Youth for Swaraj.
The sources also revealed that in a joint statement the organisation which was protesting submitted a memorandum to the Ministry of Education. As per the memorandum; “Representatives of different organisations addressed the gathering outside Shastri Bhawan… As no one from the ministry appeared before the demonstrating people, a delegation was sent to the ministry with a memorandum”.
Additionally,The organisations said they would intensify their protest if their demands are not met.
