NCB Caught Comedian Bharti for drugs use, raised many questions

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Saturday arrested comedian Bharti Singh after ganja was found from his house in Andheri, a suburban area. The NCB searched comedy queens’s home and office in connection with an investigation into alleged drug use in the Bollywood. A team led by NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede searched Bharti Singh’s residence at Lokhandwala Complex in Andheri based on specific information. 86.5 grams of hemp has been recovered from his house.

Up to one thousand grams of ganja hemp is considered a small quantity and one can be punished either for six months in jail or a fine of Rs 10,000 or both. The jail term can be up to 20 years if the commercial quantity is (20 kg or more). There may be a 10-year prison sentence for the amount between it. “Singh’s name came up during questioning from a drug dealer,” the official said. He said that the agency is also conducting searches at two other locations in Mumbai.

Bharti Singh has appeared in many comedy and reality shows on TV. NCB is investigating the alleged use of narcotics in Bollywood following the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in June.

Bharti is originally from Punjab. He was born on July 3, 1986 in Amritsar. She was too small when her father died. Mother Kamala brought her up after this. Bharti did her early studies from there. She has also been a shooter and won a gold medal in it.

Apart from comedy, Bharti has also been a TV presenter and host of several shows. She made her mark in the fourth season of the stand up comedy show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge and entered the entertainment industry. However, she was the second runner-up on the show. She had a character in the show named Lalli. She is still remembered for him.

In 2017, she married the author Harsh Limbachiya, who is seven years younger than him. Bharti has also tried her hands at dance. She has appeared in well-known dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.

Bharti and Harsh met during the comedy circus show. Singh was then a Contestant, while Harsh was a script writer. Many contestants then worked on Harsh’s script. He also wrote the script for Bharti. But after a year, Harsha proposed Bharti.

Bharti is one of biggest names in the film Industry. As per forbes she is among top 100 celebs in India. She is loved by all and not even a single celeb talked bad about her before. Before this drugs matter, She was among the non controversial faces of entertainment industry. If a clean image face like Bharti Singh is in the case then what we can expect from others. This has raised another question how and why people got themselves trapped in such things after going into this Industry
