Shahid Kapoor: Shahid will play gangster Ustara in Vishal Bhardwaj’s film, what will be Tripti Dimri’s character like?
After ‘Haider’ and ‘Rangoon’, Shahid Kapoor recently reunited with filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj for a new film. The actor will be seen alongside Tripti Dimri in Bhardwaj’s action thriller. The film starring Shahid and Tripti is expected to go on floors in December this year. Shahid and Tripti have reportedly begun prepping for Vishal’s film. According to reports, Shahid’s character is that of a gangster, based on Hussain Ustad.
Shahid Kapoor has reportedly begun combat training for Vishal Bharadwaj’s action thriller. The actor is apparently undergoing ‘intense combat training’ to meet the demands of the action sequences. According to a media report, ‘It is extremely important to understand the mental makeup of a character like Ustaara. Vishal, who is reuniting with the actor after seven years since Rangoon (2017), is guiding him to delve deeper into Ustaara’s motivations, emotions and mental battles.’
As far as Tripti Dimri is concerned, the actress’ character too is based on revenge. Currently, Shahid and his co-stars are prepping individually. They will begin joint prep closer to the film’s shoot. Vishal Bhardwaj has been working on this project for a long time now. Initially, he had planned to make a biopic on Sapna Didi in which the late Irrfan Khan was to play Ustad opposite Deepika Padukone. Unfortunately, that film couldn’t materialise.
However, Shahid is now stepping into the role of an on-screen gangster. It seems Bharadwaj has found the perfect actor to bring his vision to life. On September 13, producer Sajid Nadiadwala officially announced his next project with Vishal Bharadwaj, Shahid Kapoor and Tripti Dimri. The announcement was made from the official X handle of Nadiadwala Grandson.
A tweet from NGE Movies said, “I am thrilled to be associated with the talented director, my dear friend Vishal Bharadwaj and the phenomenal powerhouse Shahid Kapoor. Happy to welcome the incredibly talented Tripti Dimri to the NGE family. Love Sajid Nadiadwala.”
