Corona Positive prisoner breaks through jail- Rewari jail superintendent and assistant jail superintendent suspended

Major action has been taken in the case of escape of prisoners from Covid-19 Special Jail in Rewari district of Haryana. Taking action, the department has suspended Rewari Jail Superintendent Anil Kumar and Jail Deputy Superintendent Naresh Goyal. The jail under construction at Fidedi, located on Delhi Road in Rewari, was made the state’s first Covid-19 special jail in the second wave of Corona. In this, more than 500 corona positive prisoners were shifted from across the state.
On the night of May 8, 13 prisoners lodged in the barracks of the jail had escaped by breaking a forest eight feet above. All these prisoners were corona positive. All of them have serious cases registered against them like murder, attempt to murder, robbery, snatching. More than eight prisoners have been arrested. But some prisoners are still absconding. The investigation into the case of the prisoners escaping from the jail was being done at a high level. Now the Jail Department has taken action against Jail Superintendent Anil Kumar and Jail Deputy Superintendent Naresh Goyal in this matter.
