Udham Singh Nagar (Rudrapur), 17 Jan 2024: Cancer patients will no longer have to go outside the district or to private hospitals for chemotherapy. Chemotherapy facility is going to be available in the district hospital soon. Doctors and staff have taken training from AIIMS Rishikesh for chemotherapy.
At present, cancer patients have to go to Sushila Tiwari Hospital, Ram Murti Hospital, AIIMS and private hospitals for chemotherapy. This facility is not available in any government hospital in the district. Keeping in view the problems of the patients, a unit of five beds is being prepared for chemotherapy in the district hospital. For this, two doctors and two staff nurses have been trained at AIIMS Rishikesh. Chemotherapy is done by several methods at different stages. A decision is yet to be taken on which method and which stage patients will receive chemotherapy.
This is a huge achievement for the district hospital. Soon chemotherapy for cancer patients will be done in the district hospital.
