Delhi government announced compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the families of those who drowned in heavy rains

New Delhi: Heavy rains in the country’s capital, Delhi, for the last two days have created flood-like conditions. The rain on Friday has broken many records. Many people have died in Delhi due to heavy rains. The Delhi government has taken a big decision regarding this. The Delhi government has announced compensation to the families of those who drowned due to rain.
 
The Delhi government has announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the families of those who drowned due to heavy rains in the city. Regarding this, Delhi government minister Atishi has issued an order and written a letter to the Revenue Department. Minister Atishi said that many people lost their lives due to drowning in heavy rains on June 28. In this regard, instructions are given that a compensation of Rs 10 lakh be given to the families of all those who lost their lives. Atishi said that the Revenue Department has been directed to identify the families of the deceased and work towards giving compensation.
 
Atishi said in a post on ‘X’, “There have been reports of some people dying after 228 mm of rain in 24 hours on June 28 in Delhi. The families of those who lost their lives will be given compensation of Rs 10 lakh. Instructions have been given that the compensation amount reach the bereaved families quickly.” Let us tell you that due to the rain and waterlogging in Delhi, the Delhi Traffic Police has also closed the Okhla underpass. Traffic is prohibited here. In fact, a 60-year-old man died due to drowning in the underpass on Saturday. This step has been taken after the death of the person.

Let us tell you that due to heavy rains in the national capital on Friday and Saturday, many areas of the city were waterlogged and traffic jams occurred. The traffic police said in a post on ‘X’, “Traffic has been prohibited in Okhla underpass due to waterlogging.Please keep this in mind while planning your journey.” Due to the closure of the underpass, the inconvenience to commuters has increased, and the travel time is also increasing.
