Jammu-Kashmir: Terrorism has once again started spreading in Jammu and Kashmir. In the last one month, more than half a dozen terrorist attacks have taken place in the Union Territory, in which many soldiers of the Indian Army have been martyred. Till now terrorist incidents were seen only in the Kashmir Valley, but now terrorists have carried out their nefarious designs even in Jammu. An Indian Army captain and 4 soldiers were martyred on Tuesday in an encounter with terrorists in Doda. During the search operation in the inaccessible area and dense forests, the terrorists attacked the soldiers by hiding, in which 4 brave soldiers were martyred. Now the names of all the brave martyrs have been released by the army.
Captain Brijesh Thapa martyred
Indian Army Captain Brijesh Thapa was martyred while fighting terrorists in Doda. According to the information, Thapa was a second generation army officer. His father Colonel Bhuvnesh Thapa is retired from the army and his sister is a Nepali singer. He lives in Siliguri. Brijesh Thapa joined the Indian Army in the year 2019.

Army Chief pays tribute to brave martyrs
Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and all ranks of the Indian Army paid tribute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives in Doda. The Army said in its message, ‘We express our deepest condolences to Captain Brijesh Thapa, Naik D Rajesh, Sepoy Bijendra and Sepoy Ajay, who sacrificed their lives while conducting anti-terrorism operations in Doda to ensure peace in the region. The Indian Army stands with the bereaved families in this hour of grief.’

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted, ‘I am deeply saddened by the martyrdom of our brave and courageous Indian Army soldiers in the anti-terrorism operation in Doda (Jammu and Kashmir). My condolences are with the bereaved families. The nation stands firmly with the families of our soldiers who sacrificed their lives while performing their duty. Anti-terrorism operations are underway and our soldiers are committed to end the curse of terrorism and restore peace and order in the region.’
Will soon avenge the sacrifice of soldiers – Lieutenant Governor
Jammu-Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has expressed condolences to the families of the army and police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the Doda encounter. He said that we will definitely avenge the martyrdom of the soldiers.
The Lt Governor said, “I am deeply saddened to learn about the cowardly attack on our Army personnel and JKP personnel in Doda district. Tributes to the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice while protecting our country. My deepest condolences to the members of the bereaved families.”
He further said, “We will avenge the death of our soldiers and foil the nefarious designs of terrorists and their collaborators. I call upon the people to unite in the fight against terrorism and provide us with accurate information so that we can intensify counter-terrorism operations and put an end to the terror ecosystem.”

Mehbooba Mufti demands dismissal of Jammu and Kashmir Police Chief
PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti has demanded the dismissal of Jammu and Kashmir Police Chief RR Swain over the terror attack. She has asked the Home Minister and Defense Minister to take strict cognizance of the matter.
Mehbooba said, ‘There is no accountability. By now action should have been taken against everyone. The DGP should have been dismissed. About 50 soldiers have lost their lives in the last 32 months… The current DGP is busy fixing things politically. His job is to break the PDP, harass people and journalists and threaten people…
She further said, ‘…verification has been made a weapon. They are finding ways to impose UAPA on maximum people… We do not need any fixer here, we need a DGP. We have had DGPs from other states before and they have done a very good job. No one has worked on communal basis, as is being done now.’
