Bengaluru court has granted Rahul Gandhi bail
Bengaluru: Rahul Gandhi, Congress leader, appeared before a special court on Friday in the Karnataka BJP’s defamation lawsuit. The court granted him bail. Rahul Gandhi was given bail on the basis of DK Suresh’s security. The next hearing in the matter will be on July 30.
Let us tell you that Karnataka held assembly elections last year. The Congress accused the then-BJP government of large-scale corruption during its tenure from 2019 to 2023. Following that, the Karnataka BJP filed a defamation complaint against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. It was stated that these Congress leaders ran fake advertising in major publications against BJP officials, including then-Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai. Congress also produced a ‘Corruption Rate Card’, accusing officials of receiving a 40% commission on all public works projects. At the same time, Rahul Gandhi shared some nasty advertising on his social media account X. On June 1, the special court granted bail to Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar in this matter.
