123 people have lost their lives in the stampede during the satsang of Surajpal alias Bhole Baba on July 2 in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh. More than 100 people have been injured. Bhole Baba was absconding since the stampede in the satsang. Now, 15 days after the accident, he has expressed regret over the deaths of 123 people. Bhole Baba once again appeared in front of the media on Wednesday (July 17). Talking to news agency PTI, Surajpal Singh alias Bhole Baba said that he is very sad and depressed by the stampede in the satsang on July 2. But who can stop what is destined to happen. Whoever has come will have to go one day or the other.

Bhole Baba said that the claim of his lawyer SP Singh was true, in which he had said that poisonous spray was sprayed in the satsang. Baba said, “Eyewitnesses have told about the poisonous spray. That is true. There has been some conspiracy. People are engaged in defaming. But we have faith in the SIT investigating this case that it will expose the conspirators behind this by separating the truth from the truth.”

Reading the statement written on paper, Surajpal said that we had requested the committee members through lawyer AP Singh to help the families of those killed in the incident and the injured undergoing treatment. We hope that people will help the victim’s family according to their capacity. When Surajpal was giving a statement to the media, his wife was also present there.

Earlier, in a video statement on the Hathras stampede incident, Surajpal alias ‘Bhole Baba’ said, “We are very distressed after the incident of July 2 … May God give us the strength to overcome this moment of grief. Keep faith in all the government and administration. We believe that whoever is a rioter will not be spared. I have requested the committee members through my lawyer AP Singh to stand with the bereaved families and the injured and help them throughout their lives.”

Self-proclaimed Baba Surajpal alias Narayan Sakar Hari alias Bhole Baba, who came into the limelight after the stampede after the satsang in Hathras, reached his ashram in Patiyali, Kasganj on Wednesday. Bhole Baba’s lawyer AP Singh told reporters in Kasganj that he (Bhole Baba) has reached his ashram and will stay here. He has come here from the ashram only. He has never gone to anyone’s house, hotel or any other country. He said that Kasganj is the birthplace of Baba and he last came here for a day in 2023 and before that he came here in 2013.

123 people died in a stampede after the satsang of self-proclaimed Baba Surajpal alias Narayan Sakar Hari alias Bhole Baba on July 2 in Sikandrarao area of Hathras. The state government has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and a judicial commission to investigate the incident. Baba’s name was not included as an accused in the case registered in the stampede case. The SIT, in its report submitted to the state government last July, did not rule out a larger conspiracy behind the stampede.

The SIT report also pointed to lapses on the part of the local administration. The report blamed the organisers for the stampede and claimed that no arrangements were made to control the crowd. Sources said the local police and administration did not take the event seriously and failed to give proper information to senior officials.
