Nationwide Initiatives to Protect Trader Rights and Promote Respect, Major Decisions Expected at National Trader Conference in Delhi on January 6-7

The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has declared 2025 as the “Year of Trader Pride”. National President Shri B.C. Bhartia and National General Secretary and Chandni Chowk MP Shri Praveen Khandelwal announced that this year will focus on highlighting traders’ rights, their contribution to India’s economic, social, cultural, and religious development, and addressing their challenges to establish their rightful respect.

National Conference in Delhi

CAIT’s National Secretary and Chandigarh Chapter President Harish Garg stated that a National Trader Conference will be held in Delhi on January 6-7, bringing together over 150 prominent trade leaders from across the country. This conference will finalize the programs for the “Year of Trader Pride”. More than 48,000 trade organizations across India will participate in implementing this grand initiative.

Harish Garg also mentioned that Chandigarh representatives, including General Secretary Bhim Sen, Vice President Harishankar Mishra, and Treasurer Shri Ramesh Singla, will attend the national executive meeting in Delhi.

Key Programs Under ‘Year of Trader Pride’

1. Nationwide Campaign

  • A national awareness campaign will be launched to address traders’ challenges.
  • Dialogues with central and state governments will be initiated to demand trader-friendly policies.

2. Recognition Ceremonies

  • Special ceremonies will be held nationwide to honor traders’ contributions.
  • Outstanding traders and organizations will be awarded for their exceptional work.

3. Seminars and Workshops

  • Seminars and workshops will be organized to enhance business knowledge and raise awareness of modern technologies.
  • Topics such as digital trade, GST, and e-commerce will be discussed.

4. Trader Marches and Rallies

  • Swabhimaan Marches will be conducted in various states to protect trader rights.
  • Demands for transparency and fairness in trade will be emphasized.

5. Promotion of Trade Culture

  • Special fairs and exhibitions will be held to encourage local and traditional businesses.

Empowering Traders

Harish Garg and Bhim Sen emphasized that CAIT is committed to strengthening the role of traders as the backbone of the economy. This effort aims to unite over 90 million traders across the country and provide the trading community with a new direction.
