Congress snatches the quota of backward classes

Congress gave OBC quota to Muslims in Karnataka, BJP won’t allow it in Haryana: Amit Shah

Haryana: Home Minister Amit Shah, while addressing the Backward Classes Conference in Mahendragarh, Haryana, fiercely targeted the Congress on the issue of reservation. During this, he stated that the Congress snatched the reservation from the backward classes in Karnataka and gave it to the Muslims. If it comes to power in Haryana, it will do the same here. He stated that the Congress has always been against the backward classes.

Home Minister Amit Shah also targeted former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, calling the Congress anti-backward classes. He alleged, “In 1957, Kaka Saheb Kalekar Commission was formed for OBC reservation, but the Congress did not implement it for years. In 1980, former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi shelved the Mandal Commission. When it was brought in 1990, Rajiv Gandhi opposed OBC reservation by giving a speech for 2 hours and 43 minutes.”

Amit Shah stressed that the Congress snatched the reservation of the backward classes in Karnataka and gave it to the Muslims. If they come to power here, the same situation will happen here too. Amit Shah stated that he assures the people of Haryana that BJP will not allow Muslim reservation in the state. BJP will protect the rights of backward classes. Shah stated that BJP will form the government with full majority in Haryana. He also appealed to the people of backward classes to vote for the party in the assembly elections.

Let us tell you that Haryana assembly elections are to be held later this year. Shah stated that when Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister in 2014, he said that his government belongs to Dalits, poor and backward classes. He said that 27 Union ministers are from backward classes, including two from Haryana.

Shah also stated that the Haryana government led by Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini has recently taken some decisions for the backward classes. This includes increasing the annual income limit for the creamy layer of Other Backward Classes (OBS) from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8 lakh.
