New Delhi: After the last phase of voting in the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the exit poll results will be out on the evening of June 1, 2024, regarding which the Congress made a big announcement. The party announced on May 31, 2024 that it would not participate in the exit poll debate on news channels on June 1.According to Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera, the party has decided not to engage in speculation and debate before the actual results come on June 4. He wrote on X, “Voters have cast their votes and their decision is safe. The results will come on June 4. Before that, we see no reason to engage in speculation and debate for TRP. Therefore, the Indian National Congress will not participate in the exit poll debate. We will happily participate in the debate from June 4.” Talking to a news agency, Pawan Khera said, “What is the meaning of speculation? Why should we get involved in useless speculation to increase the TRP of channels? There are some forces that are involved in betting. Why should we be a part of it? Everyone knows who they voted for. On June 4, the parties will know how many votes they got. Why should we speculate? We are ready to win this election. After June 4, India Alliance will form the government.
“Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav also warned people about the exit polls on Friday and appealed to the party workers not to get misled by them. Akhilesh Yadav wrote, “Today I am making a very important appeal to all of you. All of you should be completely alert, vigilant and cautious during the voting tomorrow (June 1, 2024) and also in the days after the voting, until the counting of votes is completed and you get the certificate of victory. Do not get misled by the BJP. Actually I am making this appeal because the BJP people have planned that as soon as the elections are over tomorrow evening, they will start getting the media group to say on various channels that the BJP has got a lead of about 300 seats, which is completely wrong.” He said that the BJP will deliberately spread lies so that the opposition is not alert on the day of counting. Taking advantage of this, the BJP can rig the counting of votes.
Amit Shah spoke on Congress’s decision to stay away from exit polls
On Congress’s move, Union Home Minister Amit Shah claimed that it is boycotting the exit polls because it is losing the Lok Sabha elections. Insulting constitutional institutions has become a habit of Congress and ever since Rahul Gandhi has come into the main leadership of Congress, the Congress party has been living in denial mode. It is not a new thing that the Congress party is boycotting the discussion on exit polls. The Congress party has been in denial mode for a long time. Congress ran a campaign throughout the election that they are going to get a majority, but now they also know the situation that they are going to face a huge defeat in the exit polls that will come after tomorrow’s election, with what face will the Congress face the media? Therefore, the Congress is rejecting the exit polls saying that it has no meaning.
