PM Modi Launches ₹2 Lakh Crore Projects in Visakhapatnam, Lays Foundation for Future Growth

Visakhapatnam: On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually launched and laid the foundation stone for projects worth over ₹2 lakh crore in Visakhapatnam. These projects include the railway zone and an integrated green hydrogen hub of NTPC located in Pudimadaka, Anakapalli district of Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, PM Modi dedicated several important railway and road projects to the nation. On this significant occasion, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan were also present.

This was PM Modi’s first visit to Andhra Pradesh after assuming office for the third consecutive term in 2024. The NDA alliance, formed by TDP, BJP, and Jana Sena in the state, played a crucial role in supporting the central government and driving the state’s development.

In his address, Prime Minister Modi described Andhra Pradesh as a state full of potential and opportunities. He said, “When the possibilities of Andhra Pradesh are realized in the right direction, not only will this state develop, but the entire country will progress. This is our vision.” He also highlighted that due to its innovative nature, Andhra Pradesh has made significant strides in the fields of IT and technology and is now poised to become a hub for new and future-oriented technologies.

Prime Minister Modi announced that Andhra Pradesh aims to become a 2.5 trillion-dollar economy by 2047. To achieve this goal, the state government has launched the “Swarna Andhra 2047” initiative, aiming to strengthen the state’s economy. Modi assured that the central government would extend full support to the state in realizing this target, prioritizing investments and projects worth millions of rupees for Andhra Pradesh.

The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of utilizing maritime opportunities through the promotion of the “Blue Economy” in mission mode. He spoke about various steps taken by the state government to increase the income and business of fishermen. Modi mentioned that fishermen have been provided facilities like the Kisan Credit Card, and steps are being taken to enhance security measures in the sea as well.

PM Modi laid the foundation for the Krishna Patnam Industrial City (KRIS City), which marks the beginning of a new era of urbanization for the state. He stated that his government views urbanization as an opportunity and wants Andhra Pradesh to set an example for modern urban development.

Additionally, PM Modi referred to the National Green Hydrogen Mission launched in 2023, which aims to produce 5 million metric tons of green hydrogen by 2030. As part of this mission, a green hydrogen hub will be established in Visakhapatnam. This initiative is a significant step toward environmental protection and will help position India as a global leader in green energy.

The Prime Minister’s visit has set a new course for the development of Andhra Pradesh, laying a strong foundation for the state to advance rapidly in the fields of economy, environment, and urbanisation.
