Modi government has murdered the constitution in 10 years: Congress

New Delhi: The Narendra Modi-led BJP government on Friday announced that June 25 will be observed as ‘Samvidhan Hatya Diwas’. On June 25, 1975, the Indira Gandhi-led Congress government imposed Emergency. Due to which most of the civil rights were suspended for more than two years. The opposition parties have also reacted to this decision of the government.

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh called Narendra Modi a non-organic Prime Minister

Attacking PM Narendra Modi, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that this is yet another headline-grabbing exercise in hypocrisy by the non-organic Prime Minister who imposed an undeclared Emergency for ten years before the people of India delivered a decisive personal, political and moral defeat on June 4, 2024. He also linked June 4 to Modi Mukti Diwas. He said that this is a non-organic Prime Minister who has launched a systematic attack on the Constitution of India and its principles, values and institutions. This is a non-organic Prime Minister whose ideological family rejected the Constitution of India in November 1949 on the ground that it does not draw inspiration from the Manusmriti. This is a non-organic PM for whom democracy means only the demo-chair.

In the last 10 years, the government has celebrated Samvidhaan Hatya Diwas every day: Mallikarjun Kharge

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, commenting on the government’s decision to celebrate June 25 as Samvidhaan Hatya Diwas, wrote on X, “In the last 10 years, your government has celebrated Samvidhaan Hatya Diwas every day. The BJP-RSS want to abolish the Constitution and implement Manusmriti. So that the rights of Dalits, Adivasis and backward classes can be attacked! That is why the BJP-RSS is insulting Baba Saheb Ambedkar by adding the word murder to the sacred word Constitution.”

Akhilesh Yadav wrote on X, “January 30 should be celebrated as a combined day of ‘Bapu Hatya Diwas’ and ‘Democracy Hatya Diwas’ because on this day BJP rigged the mayoral elections in Chandigarh.” Along with this, Akhilesh Yadav attacked the BJP government and asked many questions.
