PM Modi reached Jammu and Kashmir to participate in International Yoga Day program

Shrinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Jammu and Kashmir to participate in the International Yoga Day program on Friday (20 June). This visit of PM Modi to Kashmir is considered important amidst the terrorist attacks. Tight security arrangements have been made in view of his visit to Kashmir, security forces have been deployed in large numbers at every nook and corner of the area.

The Prime Minister addressed the ‘Empowerment of Youth, Change in Jammu and Kashmir’ program in Srinagar. During this, he said, “For the last several decades, India has got unstable governments and due to this instability, when India had to take off, it could not do so. Today the country is reaching new heights. Jammu and Kashmir also participated enthusiastically in the recently held elections and I have come here to meet those who participated in this celebration of democracy. Gave true meaning to humanity, democracy and Kashmiriyat.”

PM Modi said, “Preparations for the assembly elections have begun. The day is not far when the valley will decide its future as a state. Today, the Constitution of India has been implemented in the true sense in Jammu and Kashmir and all this is happening because the wall of Article 370 that divided everyone has now fallen. Today we are seeing the vision of humanity, democracy and Kashmiriyat given by Atal ji turning into reality. You have made democracy win in this election. You have broken the record of the last 35-40 years.”

He also said that this change coming in Jammu and Kashmir is the result of 10 years of efforts of the central government. For the first time, refugees from Pakistan also cast their vote. The years old demand of the Balmiki community was fulfilled. For the first time, OBC reservation has been implemented in Panchayat, Nagar Palika and Municipal Corporation. He further said that whatever I am doing day and night for the country, I am doing it with good intentions. I am working with great honesty and dedication so that a way can be made to get out of the sufferings suffered by the previous generations of Kashmir.
