INC President Sonia Gandhi said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is doing injustice to farmers

Reported on 2nd October 2020 in New Delhi. Congress President Sonia Gandhi paid tribute to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary, and she targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over agricultural laws and said that his government passed three black laws without consulting anyone. Congress has come and will continue to fight against these laws with farmers.

Farmers Protest

In a video message released here on Friday, Mrs. Gandhi said that the farmer had done extraordinary service to the country in the era of a corona-like epidemic with his hard work, and due to him, grains have been provided free of cost in this crisis, but anti-farmer And the anti-people Modi government has done injustice to the farmers of the country by enacting three anti-agriculture laws.

The Congress President said that today is the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the greatest sympathizer of farmers, laborers, and working people. Gandhiji used to say that the soul of India resides in India’s villages, fields, and barns. Today is also the birth anniversary of our former Prime Minister Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri who gave the slogan ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’.

Attacking the Modi government, she said that due to the anti-farmer policies of this government, today the farmers and farm laborers of the country are agitating on the streets against all three black laws. The Modi government is crying tears of blood to the donor farmer who grows grains for the country by sweating his blood.

She said that during the Corona epidemic, we all demanded from the government that every needy countryman should get food grains for free. So was it possible that without our farmer brothers, we could manage two meals for crores of people? Mrs. Gandhi said that Mr. Modi is doing injustice to the farmers. The laws that he made for the farmers were not even consulted. The Prime Minister made three anti-farmer black laws, ignoring the interests of the farmers and talking only to a few friends.

She said that when the voice of the farmer was not heard while making the law even in Parliament, then they were bound to come on the streets. Far from listening to him by the anti-democratic, anti-people government, they were lathi-charged. Farmers and farmworkers only want the right price for their hard-earned product under these laws and this is their basic right.

The Congress president further said that when the grain markets are over, the hoarders will get an open exemption to deposit the grains. Who will protect the crores of small farmers when the land of the farmer is handed over to the capitalists for farming. Along with the farmer, the future of the farm-laborers and sharecroppers is also connected. Who will protect the rights of small shopkeepers and mandi laborers working in the mandis?

She in the end said that Congress has always made every law with public consent. While framing the law, public interest was kept at the top, democracy also means that every decision of the country has the consent of the countrymen. But does the Modi government believe it? Perhaps she does not remember that she was not able to change the ‘Right to Land Compensation Act’ through the ordinance. Congress will continue to fight against the three black laws. I want to say with the claim that this agitation of the farmer and the Congress will be successful and the farmers will win.
